Usually not. Direct transfers, partner-airline redemptions, bank or hotel conversions and shared currencies such as Avios are distinct concepts.
Airline Alliance Does Not Mean Transferable Miles
Alliance membership does not automatically allow one airline programme's currency to move to another.
Avios Is an Important Shared-Currency Case
Eligible participating accounts can move Avios under current programme rules because they share the currency.
